Saint Pius X offers varying summer programs from June through August.
Music Camp is provided by Musical Collaborations. It is open to students entering grades 1-8 and no prior music experience is needed - all are welcome! The daily activities include singing, playing musical instruments, rhythm and note reading. Parents and friends are invited to the final concert at the end of camp. New students are welcome! Try out a new instrument this summer. Private and group lessons are offered: piano, organ, voice, guitar, brass (trumpet, trombone), strings (violin, viola, cello), winds (flute, clarinet, saxophone)
Science Camp is provided by SPX middle school teachers and is open to students entering grades 5-8. The students are given the opportunity to explore concepts in science, technology and engineering by conduct scientific experiments through interactive and hands-on investigations. Through the use of the scientific method the students are encouraged to ask questions, research, construct a hypothesis, test their hypotheses by conducting experiments, analyze their data, draw conclusions and communicate their data. By following these steps this past summer, the science camp students were able to build a solar microwave!
